- Corrosion Costs and Maintenance Strategies A Civil/Industrial and Government Partnership
The Department of Defense (DoD) is working with the civil/industrial sector and NACE International to develop and implement best corrosion control practices throughout the military. The partnership is driven by common challenges, advances in corrosion research and development, and by the U.S. Congressional mandate requiring the DoD to develop and implement corrosion prevention and mitigation strategies.
- Bolling Air Force Base Partners with NACE to Host first CP 1 Course
A DoD plan to partner with the U.S. corrosion prevention industry was advanced in September when Bolling Air Force Base joined NACE International to sponsor its first-ever CP 1-Cathodic Protection Tester course.
- New Under Secretary of Defense Named
Recently confirmed by the Senate as the new Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, the Honorable Kenneth J. Krieg will also manage the Department of Defense Office of Corrosion Policy and Oversight.
- The DoD Corrosion Exchange Community of Practice
The DoD Corrosion Exchange Web site, a suite of information-sharing and collaboration tools for the Department of Defense (DoD) corrosion prevention community, is patterned after a “community of practice.” This unique community of practice is devoted to the concerns, problems, and interests surrounding efforts to reduce the cost of corrosion on DoD weapon systems, equipment, commercial assets, and infrastructure.
